Studying Jack Kirby - Comic Book Style (Part 7)

Jack Kirby Study Day 7! A full week of Kirby! This time it is Captain America! Which Kirby was the co-creator of. I realized the fist was too close to his face in the rough, so I moved it a bit. This week sure has been a challenge!

Studying Jack Kirby - Comic Book Style (Part 6)

Jack Kirby Study Day 6! This guy is HUGE! His name is "Day" from Kirby's "Knight & Day" proposal. I goofed a little on the horns (the thickness), but I really had fun drawing him!

Studying Jack Kirby - Comic Book Style (Part 4)

Jack Kirby Study Day 4! This one was tough, I just couldn't get the face down. I almost didn't post it, but I want to show my progress, even my goofs. Every time I sit down to draw comic characters, I get that "I can't wait!" feeling. I am very happy I started studying #JackKirby!

Studying Jack Kirby - Comic Book Style

NEW STUDY SUBJECT! I love all the different styles of art and animation. I have done so much study of the Disney eras, Don Bluth animation and years of life drawing. All while discovering my own style. One style I did very little of is comic book characters. I am a BIG comic book junkie! So I am going to start with the brilliant style of Jack Kirby! #JackKirby

CHALLENGE CONTINUES!!

After fixing the treatment for grammar, punctuation and plot holes. My mentor Don Bluth said I am ready to start writing the script. So I picked up a bunch of scripts from movies I love, to study. Learning the formatting of screenwriting is going to be difficult, but I am ready to learn! #filmmaking

TREATMENT FINISHED!!

Thank you everyone for your support. My trip to Colorado was AMAZING! If you don't mind, here is some advice. If you loose mojo or inspiration. Try going on a "Me" trip somewhere. Somewhere you don't know anyone, and you can bring your work and do it. Not having any distractions really helped, and I recommend this to anyone trying to find inspiration again. NEXT UP! I have to show Don and get his approval to move on to SCRIPT! 🤞 *fingers crossed*

SPONTANEOUS WRITERS RETREAT!!

I am going on a week long vacation, a place to turn everything OFF and find a quiet happy place to write. So I RANDOMLY chose a state to go to, I am staying in the mountains of Colorado! I have a few things planned in the week for exploring Denver, but the rest is all WRITING, WRITING, WRITING until I finish my treatment! #filmmaking

Finished My Synopsis and Outline! Don Reviewing My Work!

PROGRESS!! Finished up my Synopsis and Outline! Here I am waiting to hear Don Bluth's thoughts on my story. He is reading my work, making notes on grammar, punctuation and overall story. He said it's good and I'm ready for the next step! The Treatment!

He said usually a Treatment is about 10 pages, I have a feeling I am going to go waaaay over that. lol

I've been also making Storyboarding panels. When I see an idea in my head, I have no choice but to draw it out! As many of you artists know that feeling. :) #filmmaking #challengeaccepted

My mentor Don Bluth has given me a challenge! (Read Below)

GUESS WHAT!! My mentor Don Bluth has given me a challenge! A challenge that he will oversee, to write my own live-action film. Which starts with a Synopsis, then an Outline, to a Treatment and finally the completed Script! (I will be storyboarding the whole thing too!)

He has given me a few of his favorite books to read on the subjects to help. This is going to be very exciting! I have written short stories, and cartoons pitches in the past, but nothing this HUGE! Wish me luck! #challengeaccepted #filmmaking
